Kalyani Potekar and her teammate Ryhana Bee were top in the MRF Indian National championship and were selected to represent India at 2017 Asia Cup of Road Racing.
Round 1 was held at Thailand circuit, Nakonchisri on October 6-8, 2017.
Kalyani Potekar, finished eighth after crashing in Race 1. She was chased to the line by Marika and Thailand A’s Pariyakorn Pimpa. When the points totals were calculated, Philippines were first overall from Thailand A and Japan.
Ryhana Bee, performed strongly to take seventh in Race 1 and dropped back to 11th in Race 2 after running onto the grass. They were riding on 150 cc Yamaha underbone automatic scooter. Riders from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Phillipines, Thailand, Taiwan and Japan participated in the race.
Round 2 was held at Penbay international circuit, Taiwan on October 14 - 15, 2017.
They were riding the Yamaha 125 cc automatic scooter where Team India finished in 3rd place. Their overall experience was fun and challenging and they got to interact with international riders.
Round 3 is scheduled to take place on November 17, 2017 in India.
