Kawasaki India has launched the 2017 version of the Z1000 in India today. The new motorcycle will be available in two versions - standard and Z1000R. The base version has been priced at Rs 14.49 lakh while the Kawasaki Z1000R carries a price tag of Rs 15.49 lakh (both prices are Ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2017 Kawasaki Z1000 has been updated to meet the stringent Euro 4 emission norms. The ECU settings of the engine has been changed and Kawasaki engineers have also added pre-catalysers to make the new motor cleaner. Despite being Euro 4 norm compliant, engine power figures remain unchanged. The 1,043cc displacement in-line four motor produces 114PS at 10,000rpm and 111Nm of peak torque arrives at 7,300rpm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and it also features slipper clutch. The instrument cluster gets gear position indicator and shift light. The styling for both the bikes remain same but the Z1000R gets a special paint scheme with subtle accents to distinguish both the motorcycles. Suspension duties are handled by USD forks at front and a horizontal monoshock unit at the back on the Z1000 but the settings have been revised to make the ride quality better. Disc brakes provide anchorage at both ends while ABS is standard.

Kawasaki also launched the 2017 version of the Z250 in India for Rs 3.09 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi) . With its sharp styling, premium engineering and build quality, the Kawasaki Z250 does stand out in comparison to its rivals. It is powered by a 249cc; liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine developing max power of 32PS at 11,000rpm and peak torque of 21Nm at 10,000rpm. The new engine is Euro 4 emission norm compliant. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheel via a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and monoshock unit at the back while disc brakes on both ends provide anchorage.
