TVS Motors is working on the new Apache RTR 160 that has been spied testing. It previously introduced new colour options to its popular offering – Apache RTR 160 and 180 which has been doing decently well in the domestic market. However, in order to keep up with the new age motorcycles like Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, Honda Hornet, Suzuki Gixxer and others, it is rumoured that the Chennai based two-wheeler manufacturer is looking to update its portfolio by introducing new generation Apache 160 and the 180 in India.

The new generation Apache RTR 160 is expected to see an air-cooled single cylinder 4-valve engine which will be BS-4 compliant and will be tuned to develop more power & torque in comparison to the current generation RTR 160. However, the existing Apache RTR 160 is capable of developing 15.2hp of max power against the peak torque of 13.1Nm and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. As seen in the video, the engine on the test vehicle seems to be more responsive whereas the exhaust note seems to be more like Apache 200 with lesser bass.

The arrival date for the motorcycle is yet to be confirmed by the company; however, it is speculated that the company might launch the new Apache 160 in India by late 2017 or early next year. In terms of pricing, the new Apache RTR 160 is expected to be priced around INR 82,000 (Ex-showroom).
