2018 World Motorcycle Day celebration in Bangalore, organized by Association of Biking Community (ABC) and supported by Throttle was a great success. More than 3000 bikers from 65+ biking clubs participated in the event to make it a grand success.
On June 24, 2018 (Sunday) , bikers rode to Kamat Hotel, Dobbespet from Sri Kanteevera Stadium. Naveen Raj Singh, Karnataka State Tourism Secretary flagged off the ride at 5 am in the morning. It was fun to see bikers' enthusiasm in the early hours of a Sunday. This was the fourth editon of the ride which aims to unite bikers in the spirit of bonding and brotherhood.
Speaking about Throttle's association, Srinidhi Hebbur, chairperson of ABC said, Throttle was the Biking Partner for the event and it helped to create a large platform and spread the word to many bikers and clubs.
Bikers also celebrated World Motorcycle Day in full enthusiasm at Vizag on June 24, 2018. The event was hosted by Vaishali Kulkarni Moré
, the first woman solo biker of AP and Meena Allu, the first track racer of AP. This was the first of its kind motorbiking event to be held in the city of Destiny, where approx. 100 bikers from 11+biking clubs came together under one flag of Vizag United Bikers (VUB) and did a ride together. The celebration was conducted to bring the biking community closer. It was not a race but a promotion of brotherhood and harmony. The event had no sponsors but was funded by generous contribution of few riders from VUB.
The starting point was YMCA parking lot on Beach Road and the ride ended at Go Karting HUB at Mangamaripeta and riders rode a distance of approx. 50 kms to and fro. Bikers indulged in a host of activities like slow biking , show your power by throwing the tyre up to a distance, tug of war, throttling your bike to hear the highest decibel sound it made etc. were conducted to add to the fun. The event ended with a Motodance.
The special guesta at the event were Col. Kaleem Ma from Hyderabad, a 72+ year old veteran rider who recently completed K2K and has earlier done a solo pan India ride of 35000 kms at the age of 68, and Bharadwaj Dayala, aged 48 , from Vizag who is the first Indian to do a solo, self -funded world tour of 18 months on Karizma. He is also a motivational speaker.
Four women riders from the city , Vaishali on her 220 Avenger Cruise, Meena on her 390 KTM Duke, Anvitha on her 350 RE Thunderbird and Poornima on her 350 RE Classic stood out amongst the other riders as soon to be formed first all women biking club of AP. Pavan Kumar (Admin of DOC club & co-founder of V- gears), Bhaskar (Admin, Royal Riders Club and co founder of Gothryft), Arya (Admin of Mojo Tribe and co-owner of V - gears) and Naveen (Admin of Road Thrill , Vizag Chapter) were also part of the organising committee.
