Officials of the state government and 20 solo travellers undertook a motorcycle ride to Hampi on Saturday- December 10, 2016. It is the first time that the tourism department is promoting motorcycle tourism which is very popular among Americans and Europeans.
The Ride to Hampi was taken up as a pilot project to understand the potential of motorcycle tourism in Karnataka. The ride was flagged off from Bengaluru by tourism minister Priyank Kharge at 6am. It also saw 10 solo women riders and a few others who won radio competitions to be part of this trip. The ride was received well by all riders all along the way.
