BMW Motorrad has revised the prices for the company's entire range of motorcycles in India. Prices on all motorcycle models sold in India will be reduced by 10 per cent on products across categories such as Adventure, Sport, Touring, Heritage and Roadster with immediate effect, a statement from BMW Motorrad India said. With this announcement, the BMW R 1200 GS, and its top-spec variant the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure will become marginally more accessible for fans of BMW's big adventure bikes.
The announcement comes after the government cut customs duties on motorcycles which are imported as completely built units (CBUs). All BMW Motorrad bikes sold in India are full imports and the company recently launched two middleweight adventure touring models - the BMW F 750 GS and the BMW F 850 GS at the Auto Expo 2018. Later this year, BMW Motorrad is also expected to launch two made in India models, the BMW G 310 R and the BMW G 310 GS, both manufactured in Tamil Nadu under a collaboration with TVS Motor Company.
BMW Motorrad officially started operations as part of the Indian subsidiary of BMW Group in 2017. So far, BMW Motorrad has seven sales outlets across India in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai and Kochi.
