The CFMOTO 250NK was spotted testing in India. The bike’s camouflaged avatar suggests that it's not just here for testing but the company has plans of launching it in India. Once launched, it will compete against the KTM 250 Duke.
The company sells multiple vehicles like motorcycles, ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles) and ROVs (Recreational Off-highway Vehicle), amongst others. Coming back to the bike in question, the 250NK features a full-colour TFT screen, two riding modes (Sport & Rain), LED lights at both ends, LED turn indicators, upside-down forks and dual-channel ABS. Interestingly, the bike has been designed by Kiska, the same design studio that designed the frantic KTM Duke series.
Powering the bike is a 249.2cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder motor that makes 26.5PS of power at 9000rpm and 22Nm of peak torque at 7500rpm. A 6-speed transmission transfers power to the rear wheel via chain drive. The motor also features a balancer shaft, so we could expect lesser vibrations to be transferred through the handlebars and footpegs. The CFMOTO 250NK is priced at AUD $3,990 in Australia, which translates to around Rs 2 lakh in Indian currency. This puts it in contention with the KTM 250 Duke even though the 250NK is slightly underpowered. The bike is already on sale in countries like Nepal, China, Australia, Europe and South East Asia.
