Ducati Monster 1200R

Ducati unveiled the Monster 1200 R, the most powerful Ducati ever made at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. Equipped with the second generation of Ducati’s Testastretta 11° DS engine, the 1200cc L-Twin cylinders mean serious business. Pumping out a whopping 160HP the V4 engine has been EURO 4 homologated making the 1200 R a track ready, road going naked streetfighter but at the same time it is environmentally friendly.
The ‘R’ stands for the type of engine version which is tuned for power and torque and to be Euro 4 compliant as stated earlier. The 1200 R also uses new elliptical throttle bodies, 58mm exhaust ports on a new silencer and increased air ducts. This newest Ducati comes with three riding modes (Sport, Touring and Urban), as well as ABS and Traction Control systems as standard.
Weighing in at 207 kg wet, this Ducati will ensure that you can do multiple laps at the track without fatigue all thanks to the comfortable and fixed 830mm riding seat height comfortable even for a rider who is 185cm tall. Suspension duties will be handled by the higher spec Öhlins at the front and rear aided by the Ducati 1200 R’s revised chassis. All the power is put down on the forged aluminium Marchesini wheels sporting Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP at the front and rear.
Apart from these titbits, there’s a new tail and front section design, a state of the art full-TFT instrument panel and carbon fibre front mudguard and forged aluminium foot peg supports.
Available in Ducati Red or Thrilling; Black, the Ducati Monster 1200 R will go on sale come early 2016. The question is, will it be available in India?
