Ducati has launched the Multistrada 1260 for Rs. 15,99,000 and Multistrada 1260 S for Rs. 18,06,000 (Pan India) . The 2018 Multistrada 1260 replaces the existing Multistrada 1200 motorbike, which is currently available in India. The 1260 model gets a slightly bigger engine, reworked chassis and tons of new features in comparison with the 1200 model.
The bikes are powered by 1260cc DVT Testastretta engine that produces 160PS of peak power at 9,500rpm and 129.4Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm, same as that on Ducati XDiavel. The twin-cylinder motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox and combines variable timing with desmo valve actuation, which helps bike get optimum combination of power and torque at low-rpm. The bike gets new side panels and redesigned alloy wheels. It gets all new chassis, lowest in call seat and high capacity fuel tank.
Bike features include a LCD screen, which doubles as instrumental cluster, whereas the S model comes loaded with a high vissibility colour screen TFT panel with simplified menu management. Along with existing electronic driving modes, the 1260 model will also get a new ride-by-wire electronic throttle system, an eight-level Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, and Cruise control. Multistrada 1260 S comes with full LED headlamp with Ducati cornering lights.
