GEARS (Goan Enthusiasts And RiderS) is an initiative to bring the biking community in Goa together in a single setting. Whether you zip around town on a Honda Dio or travel at light speed on an imported Superbike, if you are Goan (or reside in Goa), you are a potential GEARhead! Of course you may not ride but that shouldn’t stop you.
If you have a passion for the two-wheeled breed, this group is made for people like you! Once you join the group, you are officially a GEARhead and are most welcome to share your opinions, pictures and news about the machines you are all so crazy about. They organize rides and events in and around Goa on a regular basis that help GEARheads from all over the state connect with each other and have a great time.
GEARS supports and advocates the use of proper riding gear, at the very least a Helmet. Remember, you are just doing yourself a huge favour by using the right protective riding gears. That’s the ideology on which GEARS came into existence with Aaron Cardozo spearheading the movement and backed up by Gauresh Halarnkar, Carlton Figueiredo and Akshay Prabhu Tendulkar as support functions to ensure the group does not violate the ideologies on which it has started rolling. June 30, 2011 is when the group actually started rolling and now in 2016, it is about to complete its 5 years of existence.
Since then it has been a superb journey for the group with its members making its name standout in the Indian motorcycling scenario with various achievements in the field of riding and providing hospitality to fellow bikers riding to Goa. Any time you are in Goa and want to catch up with like-minded riders, feel free to ping them via their Facebook page or Twitter account.
