Balaji Suresh, a rider from Coimbatore is on 'All India, Nepal and Bhutan Ride' on his Bajaj Pulsar 220F bike. He started his ride on July 26, 2017 and plans to ride a distance of 30000+ kms in 6 months covering North East India, Nepal, Bhutan, some parts of North India and West India, along with Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharshtra and Karnataka.
A mechanical engineer and farmer by profession, he has been riding for the past 7.5 years. His first longest trip was the ride to Goa from Coimbatore, which he covered in 14 hours. He was always fascinated by long distance riding and took his planned dream trip. He went on a solo trip to explore North east India, Bhutan and Myanmar, covering a distance of 20787 kms (16362 kms only in North East India) in 120 days. His riding route was Coimbatore, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Sandakphu, Darjeeling, Sikkim, Bhutan, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Myanmar, Tripura, Meghalaya, Kolkata Hyderabad and back to Coimbatore. The motive behind his ride was to travel and explore North East like never before in depth to see real nature without civilization.
He faced many hardships along the way like stucking up at 9300 ft on a snowing mountain, bike breakdown etc but nothing stopped him. He met some wonderful people who were loving and made some great friends in the North East. He says, ' I learnt who I am, and what I am capable of no matter how hard the situation comes.'
Throttle salutes this passionate rider and wishes him good luck for his ride!
