Kiran Sadanand Sawant, a passionate rider from Mumbai, fondly known to all as 'Maddy' has received Long Distance Riders 'King of Roads' Certification recently. The aim behind his endurance ride was the love and passion for biking. The purpose of his ride was to get certified under Long Distance Riders.
He achieved this feat by riding a distance of 2469 kms in less than 36 hours on his Royal Enfield Bullet Electra 350. His riding route was Mumbai - Deesa-Chittorgarh- Bagwara - Gurugram and then back to Khelana -Pali and ending at Kalol (Gujarat). He started his ride on January 26, 2018 at 3.00 am and completed it in less than 36 hours.
Some of the memorable incidents in his ride were - While traveling towards Delhi Haryana Border from Jaipur, the temperature. was between 7 to 10 degrees at night which was too low for bike riding but nothing stopped him. He rode continuously at night from Jaipur - Delhi - Haryana Border & the return journey towards Jodhpur OM Banna Temple (Bullet Baba Temple) in  half a night's time, riding continuously. For this certification ride, he has been practicing for the last 9 months on his health as well as his bike in various conditions.  Though most of his riding itinerary was fixed, sometimes it was flexible. He used all safety gears during the course of his ride like Riding Pant, Jacket, Helmet, Leather Shoes, Hand Gloves.
His wife &  Club Members of Royal Riders Mumbai Motorcycle Club  have been a constant source of inspiration for him. His friends have encouraged him and tracked his whole ride and have also  supported him on call guiding him to take the appropriate route to avoid traffic and congestion delays.
He has also received certification for Long Distance Riders 'Bad to the Bone' Easy Rider certification for riding a distance of 851 km in less than 12 hours on his Royal Enfield Bullet 350 in February 2017. Starting from Pune, he travelled south towards Kolhapur, Hubbali, Davengere before finishing the ride in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He is also planning to ride to Leh this year.
Speaking about Throttle Biking App, he says that he has been using the App for the last two years. He says that it is a good platform for upcoming bikes & news on Automobiles, SOS, Group rides, Buying and Selling etc.
