Mr. Pramod Laxman Mahajan, a veteran aged 67 years is riding with a message - 'Be An Organ Donor'.  A farmer from Sangli, he is a volunteer at Rebirth Foundation.  He is planning to ride across 18 Indian states in 100 days, covering a distance of 10000 kms. He himself has been an organ donor and has donated one of his kidneys to an ex-army man - a complete stranger 18 years ago. He says that people have many misconceptions and are not willing to come forward to donate their organs and this prompted him to take up this initiative.

In 2017, statistics have shown that more than 1,05,000 persons went brain dead but only 817 organ donors consented. The ratio of donor to recipient of organs is 1:10000 in India and this is quite alarming! One brain dead person can give life to seven people and hence more organ donors need to come forward for this noble cause. Mr. Mahajan has taken up this ride to educate people about the importance of organ donation. He is also a firm supporter of 'Save the Girl Child - Educate the Girl Child'.

His ride was flagged off on October 21, 2018 from Shanirwada, Pune. From there he will ride to Mumbai, Vapi, Surat, Bharuch, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi, Chandigarh, Meerut, Lucknow, Allahabad, Patna, Kolkata, Sambhalpur, Nagpur, Raipur, Bhopal, Indore, Aurangabad,  Solapur, Hyderabad, Chennai, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Kochi, Bangalore, Mangalore, Panjim and then back to Pune. He will cover many intermittent cities and spread the cause of his ride. He plans to ride a distance of 100 kms everyday and hopes to end his ride on January 26, 2019.
Throttle Team salutes him and wishes him good luck!!
