Goa to get motorcycle ambulances

Goa Health Department is planning to introduce two-wheeler ambulances, according to a report from Press Trust of India (PTI). When compared to cars, two-wheelers have the advantage of cutting through traffic and it is not the first time they have been used for emergency services. Karnataka was the first state in the country to bring about the initiative of two-wheeler ambulances.


Accidents are often unforeseeable and when the unfortunate happens, the initial moments are extremely crucial for the victim. In medical terms, this period is called the ‘Golden Hour’.  It is named so because a timely medical intervention during this period will save the victim’s life. In a bid to make a difference, these bike ambulances can surely save lives. The State Health Department is planning to introduce 20 bike ambulances in July 2017.
