Hero MotoCorp has unveiled Xtreme 200R . The target audience for the new Xtreme 200R is under the age of 30 years. About 35 per cent of these buyers will be college students.  In terms of design, it is very similar to its younger sibling, the Xtreme Sports; however, it has sharper and sportier looking. The 200cc naked sport motorcycle was first showcased at the 2016 edition of the Auto Expo as a concept and has been one of the most anticipated motorcycles since. The bike gets a balancer shaft, which keeps the vibrations to a minimum. Hero says that the engine is built to dole out low-end torque which will make it easier to ride on traffic-laden roads.

The Hero Xtreme 200R is  powered by a new 200cc air-cooled engine that develops 18 bhp at 8000rpm and generates 17.1 Nm at 6,000rpm. The Hero Xtreme 200R comes equipped with a monoshock rear suspension and alloy wheels. This is also the first Hero product to feature ABS and will come in 5 different colours.

It will compete with the likes of  TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and  the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, and also with Yamaha FZ25.
