Jawa Motorcycles donates Rs 1.49 crore to Armed Forces Flag Day Fund

Jawa Motorcycles had raised a healthy sum of Rs 1.49 crore by auctioning 13 of its motorcycles. This sum has now been donated to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF) at a ceremony held in New Delhi.

 

Kendriya Sainik Board, Ministry of Defence (Government of India) was at the receiving end of the donation at a joint ceremony, in the presence of armed forces veterans, war heroes and officers. The amount raised by the motorcycle company will be utilised towards the education of children of martyrs of the Indian Armed Forces.

 

The Kendriya Sainik Board under the aegis of the Government of India, is also responsible for introducing and executing various welfare and rehabilitation schemes for ex-servicemen, war widows and their dependents through a network of 32 Rajya Sainik Boards and 385 Zila Sainik Boards across the country. These welfare schemes are also funded from the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF).
