KTM India recently launched the 200 Duke ABS version in India, while the KTM 125 Duke features ABS as standard. Now, dealership sources have revealed to IAB that the KTM 250 Duke ABS will be launched in January 2019. While the KTM 200 Duke ABS and KTM 125 Duke the bikes feature single-channel ABS units, it is unclear whether KTM India will offer the same systems or go for a dual-channel ABS unit for the 250 Duke.
KTM 250 Duke is nicely sandwiched between the 200 Duke and the flagship KTM 390 Duke. It has tasted the same level of success in the Indian market as its siblings. It shares its design with KTM 390 Duke. However, instead of LED headlight, it has a halogen unit, while in place of the stickier Metzeler tyres there are less-expensive MRF Revz tyres. The 250 Duke also misses out on features like a ride-by-wire throttle system and the LCD TFT instrument console, which are standard on the elder sibling.
Powering the KTM 250 Duke is a 248.8cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, FI engine that makes 30 PS of maximum power and 24 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres, and it tips the scale at 161 kg (kerb weight).
