For the first time in India, two wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has joined hands with Ten10 Racing, a professional racing team to start the Honda Ten10 Racing Academy. The inaugural session was recently held at Meco Kartopia track in Bengaluru.
The academy promises amateur Indian riders to enter the exciting world of motorsports. The session was attended by 20 passionate riders from various cities like Ambala, Guwahati, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mysore, besides Bengaluru. The riders were provided training through lectures followed by on track sessions. Beginners were trained on Honda CBR150R while the more experienced riders were given CBR250R.
The academy will host 11 more sessions in 2016-17. The trainers of the academy include Sarath Kumar (India’s first Moto 3 rider), Vinath Kannan (National Racing Champion) and Mathana Kumar (multiple times Honda One Make Race Champion).
