Mahindra to Launch Jawa Moto Bikes in India by Early 2019

Mahindra & Mahindra, through its subsidiary Classic Legends Private Limited (CLPL), will launch the first Jawa Moto bike in India by early 2019. Mr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra confirmed that the first Jawa bike will be launched in the country before the end of next financial year (April 2018-March 2019). Mahindra owned Classic Legends Private Limited (CLPL) has acquired the license to launch Jawa Moto bikes in India from the Czech brand. Mahindra has also acquired British bike marquee BSA Motorcycle through CLPL.


It is expected that Mahindra will launch the Jawa 350 OHC in India, which is powered by a 397 cc single-cylinder 4-stroke OHC engine. This engine is capable of producing 27.35 BHP of maximum power at 6,500 RPM and a peak torque of 30.6 Nm at 5,000 RPM. The motor is paired to a 5-speed gearbox, while the bike has a top-speed of 130 kmph along with a dry weight of 160 kg. The Jawa 350 comes in three body styles – Classic, Military and Retro. Other models include 660 Sportard and 660 Vintage.
