MV Agusta has unveiled the F3XX Limited Edition bike. Using the standard F3 800 as a baseline, the company has introduced a track-focused version of the motorcycle called the ‘F3XX’. Developed by MV Agusta’s racing division, Reparto Corse, the team seemed to have been instructed to shed all the possible weight and extract the maximum potential of its motor.
The track-only F3XX is a complete 28kg lighter than the standard F3 800 which tips the scale at 173kg (dry). All that weight loss has been achieved by extensive use of carbon fibre for several components. And if that wasn’t enough, the engineers have flashed the existing ECU by replacing the stock map with an aggressive one. To go with that, the stock valves have been replaced with titanium ones while the stock clutch has been upgraded to a limited slip unit. To top it off, the iconic side-mounted three-pipe exhaust system has been swapped for a carbon fibre custom made SC Project system. All this tinkering has resulted in a significant boost in power from 146bhp to 157.8bhp.
