Agumbe is a small village located in Shimoga district, Thirthahalli taluk in the Malnad region of Karnataka, India, sometimes referred as "The Cherrapunji of the South" after Cherrapunji, in Northeast India due to the heavy rains it gets. Agumbe is associated with rainforest conservation efforts and tourism.
The home of Malgudi Days - a popular series of the 90's 'Dodda Mane' is in Agumbe. The 125+ year old house with typical Karnataka setting, including wells and verandahs, is located near Agumbe Bus Stand.
