Built over the river Pavana, this dam is the major source of water supply to Pimpri-Chinchwad area. Surrounded on all sides by hills and green mountains, the natural beauty of this place makes it a refreshing place to visit. The road running besides the long dam shows the water reserve on one side and a cluster of waterfalls on the other. The place has a boating resort if you wish to enjoy boating and watersport in the Pavana lake. Being located in western ghats, the place is surrounded with various forts. Some of them which are worth visiting are Tikona fort, Lohgad fort, Visapur fort and Tungi fort.

Do's and Dont's:
While coming from Mumbai , make sure you do not alight the Mumbai-Pune Expressway since the road is prohibited for two wheelers.
When you take pit stops in the Pavana dam area to drench in the small waterfalls, do make sure you park your motorcycle by the roadside and do not create hindrance to the traffic.
