Road Safety Awareness Week by Throttle is initiated in order to make people aware about national road safety. The aim of this campaign is to emphasize and accentuate people about the need of safe road travel by applying just simple rules.
It has been noted that approximately one lakh people are getting killed per year in road accidents. Or some of them become sufferers of life threatening problems such as mental trauma, loss of memory, loss of hand or legs for the whole life. Such situations increase the importance and necessity of the road safety measures, especially in India. India has a very huge population of road travellers on road, and that is why we all must know about road safety.
Some of the objectives of celebrating Road Safety Awareness are:-
To promote road safety measures in the community, schools, colleges, work places, on roads etc.
To decrease the number of road accidents, road accident deaths and injury cases by applying road safety measures.
To encourage all the riders to follow traffic rules and wear helmets while riding.
To implement new preventative measures which are proved to lessen the risk of road accidents, death or injury.
To make people aware about the speed limit of vehicles to prevent road accidents.
To emphasise on using safety riding equipment.
