Royal Enfield will take bookings for its limited Edition Classic 500 Pegasus from today. The sale will go live on its official website at 4PM tomorrow.
This Royal Enfield draws styling inspiration from the Royal Enfield RE/WD 125 used in World War II by British military. The bike will be limited to only 1000 units worldwide, out of which 250 units will go on sale tomorrow. This exclusive motorcycle has been priced at Rs 2.49 lakhs (On-road Mumbai) and can’t be purchased at any of the Royal Enfield showrooms across the country.
The bike is powered by a 499cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 27.2bhp and 41.3Nm of torque. This unit is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Braking on the Classic 500 Pegasus is done by disc brakes on both ends, missing out on an ABS unit.
To make it stand out from the rest of the products in its line-up, the company has equipped the Pegasus Edition with leather strap with brass buckles on the air filter box, a pair of canvas panniers and brown handlebar grips as standard. Each bike also gets a unique serial number stencilled on the side of the tank along with an embossed Royal Enfield logo and Pegasus emblem. The headlamp bezel, rims, exhaust and engine have been blacked out and the crankcase cover is colour-coordinated to replicate the RE/WD 125.
