Royal Enfield has launched the much talked about Thunderbird 350X for Rs. 1.56 lakhs ( Ex-showroom, Delhi) and 500X for Rs. 1.98 lakhs (Ex-showroom, Delhi) in India. The new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X and 500X variants were spied in the past and the bikes get modern upgrades to the styling, while retaining its old-school engines. Royal Enfield calls the Thunderbird X - Factory built with custom inspiration.
The bikes feature 9 spoke alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, new straight handlebar and single seat with new design. The headlamp gets an LED DRL while the LED taillight has been retained. The suspension setup, exhaust and grab rail get a matte black finish. The bikes get disc brakes at either end, but ABS continues to be given a miss. The fuel tank gets finished new gloss shade with contrast stripes on the alloy wheels. The 500X will be available in colour options such as Getaway Orange and Drifter Blue, while 350 X will be available in Whimsical White and Roving Red. Accessories include new backrest and fly screen made specifically for the bike. The instrument cluster remains the same, but the speedometer dial gets a colour upgrade to match the exterior.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird X range will continue using the same engine and gearbox as the standard motorcycles currently on sale. The Thunderbird 350X will be using the 346 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine tuned for 19 bhp and 28 Nm of peak torque, while the Thunderbird 500X will draw power from a 499 cc motor that churns out 27 bhp and peak torque of 41.3 Nm. Both versions come paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Bookings for the Thunderbird X commence from today across RE dealerships.
