After debuting at this year’s Auto Expo in February, Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched its premium 125cc scooter, the Burgman Street in the country for Rs. 68000 ( Ex-showroom, Delhi) . Its European styling is derived from the famed Burgman lineup, and will appeal to matured buyers and young enthusiasts alike. The scooter gets a rather unconventional body. The bulky form is new to the Indian market and a first in the segment.
Notable features include an LED headlamp and tail light, apron-mounted windscreen, unique handlebar design and an all-digital console borrowed from the Gixxer range. Another neat addition is the inclusion of foot pads on the apron, which gives the rider the freedom to switch his foot position from the floorboard. It will get CBS as standard and comes with USB port for charging and under seat storage with light. Towards the rear, the Burgman Street follows a sleek design ending with an LED tail lamp. The seats are adequately wide and comfortable too.
The Burgman Street is based on Suzuki’s successful 125cc scooter, the Access 125. The Access-derived 124cc single-cylinder motor is good for 8.7PS at 7000rpm and 10.2Nm at 5000rpm, mated to a CVT unit. Suzuki will offer the scooter in a single variant, equipped with a front disc and a rear drum, with combined braking system. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic front forks and a single shock absorber at the rear. The Burgman also receives large 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped with tubeless tyres. It will be offered in three colours - Sparkle Black, Fibroins Gray and Mirage White. Bookings for the scooter have already begun earlier. The flagship scooter will lock horns with Honda Grazia and Aprilia 125.
