British motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph Motorcycles factory operations are set to shift to Haryana from Karnataka due to the government’s non-cooperative approach.
The Government of Karnataka had allotted a 30 acre plot at Narasapura Industrial Area in Kolar (approx. 50 kms from Bengaluru) in 2012. Triumph had proposed a 850 crore investment in two phases. The initial manufacturing capacity was set to 2,50,000 high performance bikes per year that could have provided employment for thousands. But due to mismanagement in land allotting issues of government, Triumph decided to quit from Karnataka and shift to Manesar in Haryana. Now Triumph has placed request for refund of its investments.
