Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Scrambler 1200 XC at Rs. 10.73 lakhs. Triumph had unveiled the motorcycle in India last week.
The Scrambler 1200 XC, like its name suggests, derives its styling from retro scrambler motorcycles. However, the bike is loaded with modern features and equipment and is appropriately part of Triumph’s modern-classic family. To begin with, it gets a round full-LED headlamp, tail lamp and turn indicators. Then there is the colour-TFT screen which gets a turn-by-turn navigation system and integrated GoPro assist which enables the rider to capture photos and video with via a dedicated button on the switchgear.
Triumph has also equipped the Scrambler 1200 XC with ride-by-wire throttle, cruise control, traction control, ABS and riding modes- Road, Rain, Sport, Off-Road and Rider Custom. It is powered by a 1200cc, parallel-twin motor that has been derived from the Thruxton R. The motor produces 88bhp and 110Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Scrambler 1200 rides on 21-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel shod with dual-sport Metzeler Tourance tyres. It uses Showa inverted forks for the front and twin-shocks at the rear. As for braking, it has twin 320mm discs with Brembo callipers at the front and a 255mm disc held on by a Nissin calliper at the rear.
