Triumph Motorcycles India has launched Street Triple RS for Rs. 10,55,000 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Its engine makes 123PS @ 11,700rpm and peak torque of 77Nm @ 10,800rpm. It is mated to 6 speed gearbox that features a torque-assisted clutch which helps in quick gearshifts. This engine, in fact, is the base for the new Moto2 series starting from the 2019 season.
The front suspension on the RS model is the same as the R model, but the rear shock is an Ohlins STX40 with 131mm wheel travel and full adjustability (preload, compression as well as rebound). The front caliper is now a full-house Brembo M50 and the tyres are Pirelli Supercorsa SP, underlining the track and hard performance intent of the model. The steering geometry is the same as the R model.
Some of the features include features available across the model range include a quickshifter, a slipper clutch, full LED headlamp, ride-by-wire, switchable ABS, multi level traction control, fully digital five inch colour TFT display (controlled through a five way joystick). It gets 5 riding modes, namely Road, Rain, Sport, Track and Rider. The ultimate performance street will come in two colour options - Matt Silver Ice and Phantom Black. Triumph is also set to launch three new dealerships this quarter in Goa, Mangalore and Gurgaon.
