Triumph India has launched the entry level Street Triple S for Rs. 8,50,000 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The new motor is Euro 4 emission norm compliant. Powering the bike is a 765cc, triple-cylinder engine that delivers 6.6% more peak power than the previous generation with 113PS at 11,250rpm and delivers a peak torque of 73Nm at 9,100rpm.
Electronic aids include ride-by-wire throttle, two ride modes (road, rain), quickshifter, new LED position headlights, high speed stability and traction control. It also features Showa upside-down 41mm separate function front forks with 110mm travel and a preload-adjustable monoshock rear suspension unit. The bike also sports improved gearbox, new gullwing swingarm that has been designed to improve the handling dynamics further while saddle height is low at 810mm. Braking is done via Nissin 2-piston sliding calipers at the front and a Brembo single-piston sliding caliper at the back. The bike will be assembled at the Manesar plant and will be brought via the CKD route. W The bike gets contemporary styling, new bodywork and sportier twin seat design.
