Yamaha's new quarter-litre streetfighter has been spotted testing once again. Rumoured to be christened FZ 250, this motorcycle will be based on the Brazil-spec Yamaha Fazer 250.
This naked motorcycle looks like a more evolved version of the FZ. The bike shares several design and styling bits with the bigger FZ or MT series. The Yamaha FZ 250 carries typical street bike traits such as upright riding position with small rear foot pegs and single piece handlebar. Power for this naked streetfighter is likely to come from the same 249cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that does duty in the Brazilian-spec Fazer 250. However, Yamaha might re-tune this motor for producing extra power and torque outputs. On the Fazer, this 249cc engine delivers a maximum power of 20.4bhp at 8,000rpm and 20.4Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The expected price for the bike is Rs. 1.4 to 1.6 lakhs.
